[ DIY Sharing ] Nail Art Design Crown X Ribbon Sweet Princess Glamour

Good Morning everyone! Its the first day of the Lunar New Year so here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year and may you all be blessed and have a prosperity snake year! =D

Wow..Can't believe another year had just passed and a new year has arrived. Hope everyone is having a great time! As for me, it was pretty tiring for me days before the eve.. the preparation.. helping my mum out.. going to the market with her.. it was kinda hectic but luckily for me i survived. XD

Still, despite my busy schedule I finally managed to find time to do my nails for CNY. Ok, another secret here i have to confess.. ( so many secrets haha..but i'm not a mysterious person =P) I had never/seldom get my nails done in a nail salon! Yes..i know..amazing right..? XD Personally I find that there are pros and cons of getting nails done in a salon..of course you will be more relaxing..being pampered and treated like a queen..but the cons is that you have to call and make appointment (Especially peak period like CNY) you have to specially get dressed and travel all the way to the place.

Personally for me, I like to DIY. So today I'm gonna show the steps to completing the nail design on my hands. =) Here goes:

 1) Prepare these following items:
-Nail polish (color of own choice)
-Nail glitter polish
-Base & Top Coat
-Tweezers
-Nail dryer
-Nail Glue (For sticking nail ornaments)
-French manicure guide stickers
-Nail dotting tool ( If don't have, toothpick will do just fine)
-Black nail art pen ( Because i ran out of black nail polish =P)
-Nail polish remover ( For standby to remove any unsightly nail polish at the side of fingers)

1) Apply clear base coat and let dry.

2) Place the french manicure sticker guide onto the cuticle bed.

3) Paint 2 coats of the main nail polish color. Let dry in between the 2 coats.

4) When the polish are totally dried, peel away the french manicure stickers and it will look like this. Apply top coat.

5) Placed pearls or glitters along the edge.

6) Using the dotting tool/toothpick/nail art pen, place polka dots in a random manner.

7) Apply glitter strips along the rows of polka dots. (You can also skip this step and leave the polka dots the way they are.. according to personal preferences but for me i like a touch of glittery glam. XD)
  8) Place the 3D ornaments of your own choices. ( Depends on how you want your overall design to be.)

 9) Voila! The completed design. ^_^

The completed look on both hands. It's really up to how you want it to be..a very glam and 3D look or very subtle. Anyway nail art is all about experimenting and having fun.

Hope you all like and enjoy today little tutorial. ^_^

Once again, Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

[ DIY Sharing ] The Art Of Hair Coloring~Liese Bubble Hair Color

One more week to CNY! OMG...time really flies fast.. (Felt as if christmas was just yesterday. >///<) When i was a kid, i was always so looking forward to CNY..the reunion dinner, the food goodies.. new clothes and shoes to wear and of course collecting as many ang baos as i could XD but as you grew older, those feelings and anticipation seems to have disappeared. Anyone out there feeling the same?

There are just so many things to do before CNY but never seems to have enough time. XP Let's see..New clothes and shoes: Checked. New bag: Not bought yet. Spring cleaning: Checked. New haircut: Checked. New hair color?: Checked of course =P

Anyway, today's topic is about hair coloring. Now, talking about hair honestly i'm not really an expert on it even though i'm a makeup artist ( which means that i'm more into makeup rather than hair.) And just to clarify once again, i never had long hair in my entire life! and thats the absolute truth! Friends who had known me for a long time will know that i always had my hair short since i was a kid. I've been asked many times by guys and gals out there why don't i keep it long for the sake of being more feminine, (who say short hair gals are not feminine >///<)  more versatile in terms of styling and can do lots of things with long hair.

Well, the truth is long hair does not suit me at all. it doesn't compliment my face shape. (Yes..i know.. i never know till i try..) but i would say that i kinda understand my face structure well so i know that long hair doesn't suits me at all without even the need to try. Thus, one of the ways that short hair can be more versatile in styling is through hair color. ^_^

Ok. Back to topic.Where was I? oh yes, hair coloring..It may seems like a easy task but either is it too difficult to grasp.  I think the logic behind it is really all about finding the right color to suits your skin tone and personality. Ok..another thing i have to admit here is...that i had never had my hair been colored before in a hair salon! Yes, i know...pretty unbelivable..but i sometimes do think that i'm really more of a hands on DIY kinda person so naturally if possible i would prefer to do it myself. ( Main thing is also save $$$$  XD)

Having tried so many different hair coloring products out there in the market, from the traditional type where u have have to mix the coloring chemical together and applying with comb, (which i personally find a bit difficult to do on oneself) I have finally found the one brand which i really like and find it convinent.

Liese bubble hair coloring makes hair coloring really so much fun and more easier! Comes in 17 different shades from light to dark or ash grey shades. The fun part is you applied it like as if you are shampooing your hair as it comes in a bubble foam after mixing the chemical together. * It is NOT a shampoo though so you still have rinse it off throughly Ok?* Their new foam technology boosting the foam up to 4x creamier means that every single strand of your hair will be colored evenly and more long lasting and intense result.

However, when it comes to choosing the right shade, it really depends on individual and its really more of a trial and error honestly. The color charts are there just as a guide and color results may vary according to before coloring. Gals out there with sensitive scalp perharps more advisable to go for those natural organic less/chemical free type. (So far I do not have any major allergy or reaction to this.Been using for a couple of years now.) Advisable is to test a bit of the product on your skin for maybe 24 to 48 hrs before usage.

Having tried so many of their different shades, from the orange brown to light ash brown colors, in the end i still decided to come back to dark tones this time round as i realised that the lighter shades tends to make my skin looks even more yellowish and sallow.

This is the end result from after coloring with one of their shade call "Back Tea Brown" My hair feels smoother and more shiny. Dark shades do seems to make me look fairer in certain angle and lighting, =P thus was really glad that i came B2B (Back to black) XD this time round.

My usual practice is to cut my hair before i color which i think its much more easier and convinent.

I really love this new boyish pixie haircut that uncle Lawrence did for me this time round. Wondering what hairstyle to go next XD ( Wait till my hair is longer than decide ba..haha silly me XD)

Ok. Thats all for the hair sharing session. Am off to bed now..Sweet dreams everyone! ^o^

[Lifestyle] OM Cove Living Collection Knightsbridge N.O 2 Sofa

Okok..i know...this post came really really late...was supposed to post this article on the very same day when i got the prize.. but was simply too lazy (XD no la..was mainly because lots of things to do.. my work and lots of arranging and spring cleaning for the cny.) Yes..another one week plus or so..cny will be here..gosh..can't believe time flies that fast.

When i first received the email from Mediacorp last year December, i have to admit that at first i was pretty shocked, surprised and then i thought this can't be true.. it must be a scam or spam mail. Then i calmed myself down and read the email all over and over again and realised that its true. I have won an designer sofa from participating in a promotion from Style:Living magazine in March 2012!

After i got over my excitement and shock, i immediately went online and google for the photo and this is what it looks like on the web. I have to say that it look really classic and elegant but kind of big as an armchair. ( Thats what the lady from Mediacorp said in the email, an armchair)

So i went ahead, contacted the furniture company and arranged for the delivery. (Had to paid $80 for the delivery) It arrived early than the arranged timing of 2-6pm..(Which is good of course) When it arrived, i was about to leave home soon to go to work but was really excited. However, its more like a sofa rather than an armchair..and the size is pretty huge.. @_@ (Not quite what i expected from the photo online)

Besides being bigger and longer than the photo, its much taller too in terms of the height. Well, apparently it doesn't goes well at all with my run down small 3-room HDB. =P As my living room is long in terms of layout structure and with 2 working office tables, 2 antique armchairs, 1 rectangle wooden coffee table and 2 small wooden side tables, working out a good layout wasn't an easy task at all. Thus, i decided to leave this "wonderful" task to my mum and sis. =P ( As that day i had to go for an makeover assignment. But in the end i did ended up helping with the layout though.. =_=)

After much arranging and debating and so on, in the end i made an ultimate sacrifice by deciding to throw away my working desk which i had for a good 10 years or so. (Was a really tough call to make as it was still in a pretty good condition, braving through storms with me XD during my school days, offering me a place to study and did my homework etc) =(  Nevertheless, an decision has to be made and someone has to make a sacrifice. (Though now i'm still trying to get use to work without a proper desk). Though this sofa may be huge and doesn't goes well with my living room, but what i really like about it is the simple, sleek and curvy lines. Minimalistic yet elegant.

Made of fabric cushioning ( Yes, meaning it can't be removed and wash, thus i have to be really careful and not eating or drinking on it) the comfort wise i would say it average. Neither its hard or too soft..( Even Rilakk is enjoying himself on the new sofa XD Hey! but no eating on the sofa ok?)

Perharps more good for lying down though? ;) haven't try that out myself, perharps i should..  XD

PS: This sofa by the way is worth $730 @_@ Now you know why no eating and drinking on it!

Thats all for today and may everyone have a great day ahead! ^_^

    [Work] Shoot @ Egg3 Cafe

A cup of nice, hot coffee or capaccino on a warm, lazy afternoon in a nice cozy cafe and watching the world go by is what most of us wishes to do in order to get away from the stressful urban lifestyle.

Yet, most of us must be thinking that places or cafes like this probably don't exists at all. And majority of us are already quite satisfied with Starbucks or Coffee Bean.  ( Coz i'm one of those people also XP)

However, when i went for a photoshoot yesterday at this place called "Egg3 Cafe" I completely changed my view about coffee outlets and cafes.

Located at 231 Mountbatten Road Blk D, though not easy to find and without almost any obvious sign, one could have easily missed it. With see through glass at both the front and back, Its gives a kind of warm natural feel to the whole environment.

When you first stepped in to the cafe, Straight away what greets u is this lovely foldable chair with prints of birds and branches.

Though without a specific theme or concept nor fanciful furnishings, yet at almost every corner little decorative surprises will always awaits you. Just like this victoria style corner is my "cup of tea" =P Looks elegant, don't you think so? ;)

    Another cozy sofa corner ^^

Even the walls are with nice decoratives. ^_^ (Simply love this kind of style!)

Another one of my favourite corner =P
(Really love this kind of vintage looking birdcage decorated with flowers)
I bet if were to keep a bird or parrot in it, the little animal will be cheerful also XD

Another little surprise is that most of
the merchandises on display are mainly for sale.
The owner even brought in stuffs like wallets, clutch bags and handbags to sell in the cafe.
Interested customers can directly ask the staff for assistance. =)

Even this old rustic vintage bicycle is also for sale.
Though its already spoiled without the seat, the owner still display in his cafe as part of the decoration. (Must have been a memorable item for him? =) ) Imagine displaying this piece of art right in your own home which will definitely be a great conversation starter!

    Handbags for sale. =)

    More decorations.

    Such beautiful display area... =D
I think some of the items are for sale too. ( Can check with the saff ) =)

Last but not least is the food here. Wahaha....How could i ever forget?
I mean that's the main thing isn't it? =P --- (Drooling in progress...)

They have different breakfast and main course menu.
What i had here is one of their sandwich. "Asian Chicken Sandwich"
Sounds pretty common name but the taste is really nice..cooked with olive oil (Which is a very good and healthy choice ) Served with crispy fries, chicken bites, fresh green salad and fries.
(A definite good choice for those on a healthy diet.)

A couple of behind the scene shots.

[ Skincare Sharing & Product Review ] Etude House Sunprise SPF42 Sunscreen

Find it weird myself that i'm writing this post on a cool, rainy day. XD Yet, living in a tropical climate country like Singapore 365 days has made me become very sun-concious,even on rainy days. Imagine the kind of damage UV rays could do to our skin if we simply leave home without sunscreen. Though we can't see them but the least we could do is to block them out.

Having tried before so many different brands of sunscreen.I'm pretty particular when it comes down to the type of texture it provides as i believe most of us doesn't like the stickiness feeling on our face. However, this sunscreen from Etude House kind of change my view. Not only does it comes with SPF 42 PA++ but it's also a skin corrector. Meaning it will also helps to correct our skin tone, brightening up dull and uneven skin.

And the best part of all...not only that its lightweight texture without the stickiness feeling on the skin but its also easy to blend out and settle on top of our skin pretty fast.

Pricing wise is also reasonable. (I got it during their last day of 30% storewide sale XD) Thus, invest in a good sunscreen could also lighten our workload of taking good care of our skin.

May everyone have a beautiful, lovely evening ^_^ (Though its raining heavily here.. )

    xoxo
