Anna Sui.. a well known name to the beauty and fashion industry has yet again outdone themselves this season by not only launching new clothing designs but also new limited edition cosmetic range.
Last Saturday 7th Sept, I was invited to Anna Sui 2013 Autumn Workshop at Isetan Scotts by Cosmopolitian magazine (Thank you Cosmopolitian! ^^ you people are the best!)
When I first reached the place I was astonished and felt like I had drop into a fantasy world ( Think Alice In Wonderland) XD as everything from the reception table outside to inside the event hall was nicely done up in black and purple colour, Anna Sui signature style and colour.
There were also door gifts for the participants and also two promotion or rather discount vouchers (which I forgot to take photos >///< sorry! too excited haha..later I shall explain how the vouchers works ok?)
We were seated down on the rows of benches and there was a small stage in front where the makeup demo will be done. ^^ At two sides of the small room were tables that was display with Anna Sui products (At that moment I really felt like dashing to the table and swept all the products and ran off!!LOL..) and also some cupcakes and drinks on the other side.
And guess who I met there!?? My ex-colleague Sherron back in the days years ago when I was with Anna Sui. ^_^ Still looking gorgeous as always!
We were greeted by the beauty trainer who was dressed in all black and a pair of nice stylish red heels. A nice and friendly lady, she begin the session by some interaction with everyone with a series of questions about Anna Sui and for each correct answer, there were mini samples to give away! ^^
I managed to answer one correct question and thus got a free mini foundation sample.=) but seems that a lot of people knows Anna Sui as a cosmetic brand.. and not knowing who she really is and what she does. Anyway here's a brief introduction of her:
Anna Sui, born on August 4, 1964 is an American born Chinese fashion designer. One of the most celebrated names in fashion history, she is known for her timeless designs and ability to transcend eras with historical and culturally inspired collections. She was named one of the "Top 5 Fashion Icons of the Decade" and earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), joining the ranks of Yves St Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, and Diane von Furstenberg. Her worldwide luxury fashion brand includes clothing, shoes, cosmetics, eye-wear, and accessories, as well as her renowned line of signature fragrances.
Soon, the makeup demo begin. The trainer began by teaching and demonstrating on how to chose the right lip colour base on individual skin tone and what kind of colour suits the look that we are going for and of course also introducing the new lippies.
With each colours that she used, the beauty advisors would go around with testers, letting us tried it out on our hand and I must say, that I really like these new lipsticks colours. Texture wise they are not too drying but with a hint of moisturizing effect and easy to blend too. ^^
And of course not missing out the main star of that day! The new Anna Sui Ring Rouge! So nice and elegant! (Love the purple and black colour combo!) Comes in 8 different shades, the trainer also
show us how we can compliment and complete our lip colour look by adding the ring rouge colour on top to give a hint of sheer gloss and moisture.
For the face, products used were consist of foundation primer, liquid foundation and loose powder.
The primer comes in two different types: One for dry skin with shimmer inside that will give your skin a glow and dewy finish which I tried out on my hand and eventually bought one. Hee.. =P another one is more for normal/combination skin without shimmers.
Next is the eyes makeup demo, we were shown how to create the cat eyes winged look that were seen
On Anna Sui Fall 2013/2014 runway. Products used during the demo were the eyeliner pencil, liquid Eyeliner and mascara to achieve the "Big doe-eye" look. I quite like the liquid eyeliner as the colour were very intense. =)
After the makeup demo, guess what? It's shopping time!!! =D The entire display table were of course
very tastefully done up in Anna Sui style. Everything from the props or accessories used to the even the table cloth were purple colour. OMG.....everything looks so dreamy and girly~ ~ *Faintz......*
Can I just packet and take away everything? =P
Anna Sui range of eyeshadow colours. ^^
The new ring rouge on display. Don't they just look lovely on the 3 tier plate?
They even set up small mirrors, cotton pads and buds with the lipstick testers
for us at 2 small tables. So nice and sweet of them! ^^ and yes if you noticed,
even the cotton pads are in purple!
The new Anna Sui fragrance LA VIE BOHEME. Love this bottle design! Yes,
When it comes to fragrance, though I'm not an expert on it, but beside scent, I'm
a sucker when it comes to the bottle design. Or in fact sometimes I buy fragrance
base on the bottle design. XP This body is in the form of rose shape with a golden
butterfly sitting on top..OMG...*Faintz* again.... I didn't got the chance to tried out
the scent and asked about the price as it was pretty crowded that day.. but just in time.
(My fragrances at home are running out. Shall keep this in mind and drop by their
Counters next time. XP)
Ok. Earlier on, I mentioned that there were 2 vouchers given to me when we arrived at
the event right? Here's how it works: The 2 vouchers can be used to offset from your total
purchase. One of it is a 15% discount off their Autumn collection which includes the ring
rouge and some pouches. Another one is $10 off when your purchase hit up to $60 (Which
is pretty easy) and also entitles you to a lucky dip which confirm guarantee will win something. Here's the catch: $10 off is only for the regular items like compact powder, liquid foundation, mascara etc. (Not including the ring rouge and autumn collection.) And you can only chose either one of the promotion method. However, say if you buy something from the autumn
Collection, you can use the 15% voucher and if you want something from the regular items, you
can use the $10 voucher too. Just separate the two bills! =) (Which is what I did. =P)
Here are my purchases: Total damage $80+ >////<
The door gift consisted of a liquid foundation and concealer. The mini base primer I got it
when I answered the question during the introduction/demo session.
Anna Sui Moisturizing Foundation Primer. SPF18PA++ (For dry skin)
Such nice bottle design all craved with lovely details. I could have gone for the other one with no shimmer as my skin is combination but on second thoughts, I decided to get this as I'm always stuck in air con environment so my skin may tends to feel a bit dry sometimes. (Besides I love the shimmering effect when applied on.^_^)
Texture wise pretty light weight, only a slight tint thicker than the other one. but overall it's still easy to blend and no thick heaviness feeling on the skin. However, though it comes with SPF18PA++, I would suggest putting on a sunscreen with higher SPF before this primer if you want stronger SPF protection. ^^
Anna Sui Lipstick Rouge A Levres.
Simply adore this lipstick range. With it vivid colour and ultra smooth texture makes your makeup look more complete and keep your lips moisturise with its sheer moisturising properties. I got the 401 as I'm lacking of a red lippie in my makeup kit. It may looks very red and intense and maybe even scary to some people before applying. But once you apply, it gives a rather brightening look and it wasn't really that scary. I tried on the other shades as well including pink, nude and coral and in the end decided to get this shade as I find that it rather suits me best. =)
Even the lip casing is so girly and cute with craved details and a lovely black rose sitting on top.
However, the only thing is that when open up, it cannot stand on it's own on the table due to the rose design. Other than that it's perfect! =D
And last but not least, our main star of the day!
Anna Sui Rose Ring Rouge.
Available in 8 different shades. I got the one in 400, a bright vivid red to compliment with my 401 lippie.^^ just like the look on the campaign poster! =P
Simply adore this new packaging as well. The butterfly design in front is actually a cut out design!
Remove the side and you will have a 3D butterfly that landed itself on the box, inspiring, elegant and
ready to take off and soar high with it's beautiful wings. How lovely!
Open up the box and there inside wrap in a purple wrapping paper is the ring rouge. So excited to open up little box like this! =D
And there lying in the purple paper is the gorgeous ring..OMG.... =D
Lovely carved details at the side.. reminds me of a elegant painting being framed up.^^
If you look carefully, the word Änna Sui is carved on the centre portion.
Looks so elegant when worn on the finger. Of course looks even better when your nails are painted!
(Letting my nails "breathe" before I do my next manicure again. ^^
When open the cover up, inside is the gorgeous red gloss colour! you can wear it alone on its own or
match with your lipstick colour. But then I don't intend to use it. Its so pretty! Simply just can't bear to use. =P
Just now I mentioned there is a lucky dip right? =) and I won this Anna Sui toiletries pouch.
Even the prints on the front are so detailed and lovely...^^ embossed with little crystals.
Open up, inside are all the slots for putting you toiletries and cosmetics on one
side. The other side have a few slots for you to put your makeup brushes. So useful
and practical! =D
And here's a little gift for all Sui lovers out there.^^
